WEB DESIGN + Data Analysis
I have designed two websites. Both of these were designed by me and routinely maintained for free to help benefit both organizations by utilizing my skillset to better my community.
The first is a local home inspection company, Top Notch Inspections.
I redesigned the entire site, which was last updated in 2008. I updated the site to be mobile friendly, wrote copy for the site, and designed a form for users to request an inspection. Once submitted, the owner of the company receives an email and text message alerting them to the new request. This allows the owner to take his business on the go and respond to requests while in the field.
The second is a local outreach program serving the Central Minnesota community.
I redesigned the entire site, which was last updated in 2012. I updated the site to be mobile friendly, wrote copy for the site, and developed an integrated scheduling system.
The prior process for serving meals at the shelter was to call the shelter, and have someone write your name down on a calendar. Now people can look online, see what is open, select a slot and sign up. This new process saves hundreds of hours a year and allows the shelter volunteers focus on serving community members in person.
Every year at Christmas, I manage the Adopt-A-Family process. I create an online submission form for families wanting to be adopted, synthesis and anonymize the data and set up an online marketplace for people to choose a family to adopt. I manage all communication between the families and the shelter coordinating the gift delivery. Over the last two years we’ve seen a 96% increase in families applying to be adopted, in large part due to the accessibility of the online application form.
